Day 33 - (09/04) Carson City, NV

We started slow this morning.  We showered, hitched up, had a long conversation with a camping neighbor, filled a propane tank and finally left Susanville at 11am.

Our 121 mile trip ended in Nevada.  We've now been in 4 of the 5 states we'd never been in with the Airstream.  The route: CA-36E to US-395S to Carson City.  We passed Reno and Sparks, and were able to fend off the call of the casinos.

The trip was uneventful.  The weather was sunny, breezy and dry.  The temperature reached 91°.  Many of the sights were new and pretty desolate.  It definitely felt like a day in the west.
Our last view of California ... but, we'll return soon
Nevada welcomed us, California didn't say goodbye.
Something new ... corrals in the front yard

We're camped at Compton Country RV Resort.  It's nice, but stretches our definition of a "resort".  Like most campgrounds out here, we're next to/across the street from a casino.
Site #12
(note: Dick got to carry Carol's baggalini today)

We had a late lunch at Bodines Casino (yes, just across the street), went to the visitor center and did a little touring of historic Carson City.  We spent time planning visits to Lake Tahoe, Virginia City and maybe Truckee and Donner Pass.

A few Carson City views ...
NV Governor's Mansion
Completed 1909, the land cost $10
St. Charles - Muller Hotel
Completed 1862 - one of  the most elegant of the day
