Stephanie Stewart Mogel & Ron Mogel (Sabra Weber's sister & brother-in-law) retired to Ashland. We met them for lunch and some sightseeing. Lunch at Sesame Asian Kitchen was delightful and the walking tour was great fun.
Looking beyond the downtown
Ashland Springs Hotel (tallest building between San Francisco & Portland) |
The country is close to downtown |
Elizabethan Stage
Stephanie & Ron ... almost on stage |
Lithia Artisans Market - on Calle Guanajuato (behind the Plaza)
This market is only held on Saturday & Sunday |

This deer appeared along the path with a few more of her deer friends |
These trees have been friendly for quite a while |
Then the day turned into a "baggallini" excursion. Stephanie and Carol are really impressed by these purses. Ron and Dick ... not so much. We looked, we saw and didn't buy anything. What a cool outcome!
Ron and Stephanie are leaving for Monterey tomorrow. We wished them safe journey and many thanks for a fun visit.
The Oregon Shakespeare Festival has been performing here for more than 75 years. That was reason enough for us to spend the evening at the theatre. We saw The Very Merry Wives of Windsor, Iowa. This adaptation of Merry Wives is transported from the late-16th-century merchant town of Windsor, England, to the fictional early-21st-century farming community of Windsor, Iowa. It's a profoundly silly play about deeply serious things. We both enjoyed it.
