Day 25 - (08/27) Silver Lake, WA

Today was hard and easy.  It was hard to say goodbye to the Portland families.  It was easy to drive 72 miles to the edge of Mt. St. Helens.

There was a lot to do before leaving.  Carol took Anna to swimming lessons, Dick made wiring changes to Tim's boat trailer, then we loaded the trailer while Elizabeth and Anna went to the airport to pickup Jacob (he returned home after spending two months in Nova Scotia with his grandmother).  Barbara, Lucy and William arrived to help with the preparation.  Of course we needed to have lunch together.  Tim arrived from his conference just as we finished lunch.  We finally left Portland at 2:15pm.
We had a great time
Reluctantly, we leave

Our short drive into Washington went from I-205N in Portland to I-5N to WA-504E at Castle Rock.  We're staying at Silver Cove RV Resort in Silver Lake.  It's new and very nice.  Our Passport America card got us a 50% discount.  We'll stay here for two nights and explore Mt. St. Helens tomorrow.
Site #72 - Silver Cove RV Resort
The 55 acre campground is very peaceful

We hit a new high today:  gas @ $4.19/gallon.  Arrgh!
